It feels so good to be back sharing my personal style and musings around town again. Now that it’s summer and Nashville gets up in the 100-degree-days, my husband and I searched for some new ice cream places around town that would help us cool off and satisfy our sweet tooth. I typed ‘ice cream’ into my GPS and began my search for a new place to try.
We set out to visit a place near Opry Mills off Briley Parkway called Cotton & Snow, which is primarily a Hawaiian shaved ice stand with tons of different flavor options. Which was ideal for me, since I’m basically now avoiding dairy at all costs (except for the rare indulgence in Jeni’s peanut butter ice cream). It’s so great that we’ve been here for 3 years and are still discovering so many places around town. I love exploring this city.
Cotton and Snow is located on Music Valley Drive, right next to the adorable mini golf and go-kart place. It’s a very family-friendly area and is in what I like to call “Old Nashville”, which is in close proximity to Opry Mills Mall, The Gaylord Opryland Hotel, and of course, The Grand Ole Opry house. It’s the ideal location for families to stay when they’re visiting Music City.
I call this my ‘rainbow style’ and I sported this top during Pride last weekend. It’s not your traditional rainbow attire, but I love the fruit-striped gum look of it. The colors make me happy and I’m really into short-sleeved button up shirts with a feminine twist. I carry this bag from Fossil whenever I have big plans over the weekend or need to throw my laptop in it. I’ve turned into more of a cross-body kind of girl over the past few years, but every once in a while I need a good, durable tote-sized bag. I love this one.

Tomorrow I’m flying out early in the morning to Michigan for an entire week! I’ll be working from home for a couple days, then joining my family for some camping, then heading to Traverse City next weekend for a wedding. I don’t know if I’ve ever been more excited to spend an entire week back in my home state. It’s going to be just what I need.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend!
love the whole look Laura! i’m digging everything rainbow right now for some reason and actually just snagged a rainbow one piece suit and a bikini for an upcoming vacation!
