On Wednesday evening I attended a Nashville Food Bloggers event at Party Fowl Nashville for a brunch-style happy hour. After being sick during the holidays and being out of town for nearly 10 days, it was a great way to get back into the swing of things here in town. I invited my friend Renée to come along with me and we had a great time catching up, eating hot chicken hor d’oeuvres, sipping small frozen cocktails, and learning about new menu items.
We learned from the owner that they have a specialty menu item that is only offered up to 3 times on Saturdays and Sundays. It’s called the “Brunch for Two” and it takes a lot of prep and presentation to make it into a masterpiece, which is why they limit it to 3 orders per day on the weekends. Check this bad boy out:
It’s a 55 oz Bloody Mary topped with two whole fried Cornish Game Hens, two whole scotch eggs, eight fried okra, and 1/2 avocado. WHOA.
We tasted some of the following:
Hot Chicken & Stuffed French Toast
Thick cut, house-made cinnamon brioche stuffed with apples and bourbon cream cheese, dipped in orange custard, skillet fried, and served with hot chicken
Loaded Hot Chicken Biscuit
Scratch-made, open-faced buttermilk biscuit topped with Nashville hot chicken. This little number was HOT.
Dusted with powdered sugar
Another Damn Mule
Pickers vodka, fresh citrus, ginger
St-Germain, champagne, club soda, lemon
Bushwhacker and a frozen Irish coffee made with coopers craft bourbon, mint, cacao, banana, frothy monkey cold brew
Everything was appetizing and delicious. My favorite cocktail was the hummingbird, especially after having ridiculously spicy chicken. My mouth needed to be cooled off. It was a great night out with fellow Nashville Food Bloggers and I’m looking forward to the next event.
