Well, dang! I guess you could say I had my own little winter break there for a minute. I took a partially intentional/partially unintentional month-long break. I was planning to take about a week or so off from blogging so that I could be with my family in Michigan after my grandfather passed away, but it turned into a longer hiatus when I realized I had to re-prioritize some things in my life. The end of the year can be so crazy and I think it’s so important to head into a new year and a new season with clarity and some fresh perspective, so I’d say the break was more than necessary for me.

Speaking of the year coming to an end… when did that happen?! I can’t believe it’s mid-December. I’m afraid to blink. Although the sun setting slightly after 4pm has been a huge downer, I am happy to spend more time at home with a cup of hot chocolate and a good Netflix show. I think some quiet, cozy time is good for my mental health.

I love staple accessories. I’m not much of a jewelry and handbag buyer, so when I find pieces that I can wear with anything and that are wearable year-round, I’m all in. Especially during the holiday season when there seems to suddenly be more events, dinner parties, and family gatherings. It’s nice to find accessories (especially jewelry) that is both tasteful and timeless.

Every year during the holidays, Steve and I try to host a small group of friends at our place to eat dinner, drink cocktails, play board games, and spend quality time together before departing Nashville for Christmas and the New Year. This year we’re so excited to host a dinner party at our new house. It’s going to be extra special with it being the first year hosting as homeowners. I’ve partnered with Basic Invite to show you how simple it was for me to create custom invitations and holiday cards for the occasion.

holiday cardsBasic Invite made it so easy for me to create the ideal, simple, festive holiday invitations. They allow all customers the ability to order an actual printed sample of their invitation so that you can see exactly what it looks like before you ever have to place your final order. You can’t go wrong! You’ll always end up with exactly the invitations or holiday cards you’re looking for.

holiday cardsholiday cardsBasic Invite is also incredibly colorful! They offer just as many custom colors for their envelopes as they do for their invitations. There’s a huge variety of colors to choose from. With over 40 different colors, you’ll always have the perfect custom design you’re trying to achieve. All of their envelopes are peel and seal so the envelopes can be quickly and securely closed without licking a single one.

holiday cardsThey also have their own address capturing service that lets customers simply share a link on whichever social platform they choose to request their friends and family’s addresses. Their addresses are then stored in the customer’s account and can then be selected during the design process. They make it so easy to organize everything you need to send out holiday cards!

Whew, Monday! You are brutal. I’m happy to throw myself back into a steady routine after several weeks of traveling and being away from home on weekends. I had an incredible time in Orlando with some of my coworkers eating and drinking at the International Food and Wine Festival over the weekend. I’m so glad I went and had some quality time with strong, smart, ambitious women.

stripedAlthough I’m still trying to catch up on rest, I’m more ready than ever to get stuff done and hammer out some new projects and get some more things done around the house. I feel like after the first month or two of getting settled into our house I kind of stepped away from stressing about decorating and making all of the rooms look cohesive. Now I’m excited to get back into it and make our house extra cozy and festive for the holidays.

I’m excited to share about my experience with Xoby Organics today. Xoby Organics is an online marketplace that delivers organic groceries straight to your door. It’s amazing! Rather than spending hours running to multiple stores to put together a full organic shopping list, Xoby has all of the products I need in one place… and I don’t even need to leave my house to get them.

xoby organicsYou can order from Xoby organics in just a few easy steps:

1. Add Your Products to a Box

You can create multiple boxes and label them for specific things. For instance, I created my box called “Laura’s Pantry” because all of the products were things I needed to add to my pantry for future cooking and baking. You can have a separate box titled “Baby” if you’re planning to shop for all baby food and baby products. You get the idea.

2. Choose Your Delivery Schedule

Although you can shop from Xoby for a 1-time purchase, you can also set recurring shipments. If you want the deliveries to keep coming, you get to choose your own delivery schedule. You choose the frequency. You’ll never run out of your favorite products!

3. Choose a Delivery Address

You can have the boxes shipped to your home, your work, your mom’s house, or wherever you desire! You can have different boxes delivered to different places.

4. Set Your Payment Information

You can set a unique payment option for each box. They all get stored in your account so you don’t have to enter them each time.

They make it so easy to purchase all of your favorite organic products.

xoby organicsFor my first box, I ordered some everyday pantry needs as well as some organic baking supplies that I can use over the holidays. I’m excited to start baking with coconut flour, pure cane sugar, organic chocolate, and other goodies. I also ordered some ingredients for making white chicken chili.
