Today I’m sharing my favorite Nashville coffee shops to work from remotely. As a full-time remote worker, finding places to be productive outside of my home office is essential to my mental health. Sometimes I just need a change of atmosphere and a fancy coffee that I didn’t have to make in my own kitchen to boost my morale and stimulate my brain. I love that we have so many wonderful options for places to work remotely in Nashville. I truly believe that I do some of my best work when I’m in the presence of others. There’s something so uplifting and motivating about being around people when you’re so used to working from home and spending so much time alone.
Here is my list of the top 5 Nashville coffee shops for working remotely:
The employees and the patrons that go to Ugly Mugs are incredibly friendly, non-pretentious, and conversational. There are tables, sofas, and barstools to sit at and work from, as well as an outdoor patio for when the weather is nice. I wrote at least 30% of my book from this coffee shop a couple years ago because the atmosphere is so laid back and inspiring. They’re also open late, which is a major bonus when you’re a freelancer or blogger who works around the clock. The location is also convenient to many other great businesses in case you want to hang around the area for lunch, dinner, or shopping.
I love this place for its massive space, among many other things. But for someone who likes to spend a couple hours minimum at a coffee shop in order to get work done, I like to not feel like I’m taking up a table at a cramped, crowded place with a line out the door. That’s usually not the case at Frothy Monkey in the Nations during a typical weekday. There is ample room and tons of tables for you and your laptop to make yourself at home. They’re also open late, which is convenient for anyone who works past the 5pm hour. They also have a great menu of food items so that you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, OR dinner instead of just overdosing on lattes or cold brews. The building is absolutely beautiful, too.
Located smack dab in the middle of Riverside Village, Dose is a great place to work remotely for numerous reasons. They’re open 7am-10pm during the week, have various menu items for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and they have tons of space for setting up shop for the day. I happen to love their baked goods (especially their blueberry pie and coconut macaroons), but they also have delicious breakfast sandwiches and avocado toast. While you get some work done, I highly recommend the lavender latte, either iced or hot!
This is my favorite coffee shop to work remotely from when it’s warm and sunny out, because I love their large patio area. Located in Germantown, this is a perfect place to have an afternoon work session with an iced butterscotch latte in the sunshine. The employees are an absolute joy to be around and the coffee is top notch.
This is one of the newer coffee shops that has opened in Nashville. There is a Stay Golden location on the west side of town, but as an eastsider, I’ve only yet been to the east location, and I was extremely impressed. This has got to be on of the most welcoming and hospitable staffs in town. Not only do they have a full menu of delicious food items, but they also roast their own coffee beans. They truly offer a one-of-a-kind experience that is different than other coffee shops in town. This location is also attached to the East Nashville WeWork, so it is surrounded by other entrepreneurs, freelancers, business owners, and remote workers. It’s a beautiful space and a great spot for working outside of your home.
