A couple posts back I mentioned how Steve and I had a date night at the recently opened Fort Louise restaurant in Riverside Village, a quaint area of East Nashville. Today I’m sharing more about that experience. I had heard many good things via friends (shoutout to my friend Ashley for motivating me to go after THIS Instagram post) so it was the perfect place for us to have a date night that wasn’t too far from home and where we could sit outside and enjoy the nice weather.

The restaurant is in a cozy home-like setting with adorable decor, an inviting front porch, and a beautiful back patio. The menu was really impressive at first glance and I knew I was going to have a tough time making a decision. We decided to start with the spiced edamame. They came served in a chili-garlic sauce and were topped with grated parmesan. We were also served some of the house-made pimento cheese spread and crackers, compliments of the chef. Both appetizers were delightful and packed with flavor.
For our entrées, I ordered the Curry Fried Chicken (because if you know me, you know that fried chicken is my weakness) and Steve ordered the Baby Back Ribs with Coconut BBQ and Pineapple Fried Rice. If you aren’t drooling yet, you will be.
The fried chicken literally came in a bucket. It was like they were speaking to my soul. It’s the simple things in life that please me. Like a cold glass of beer and a bucket of chicken. I don’t ask for much. And HELLO, it was curry flavored! My love for fried chicken knows no boundaries and this was one of the most exceptional dishes I’ve tasted. You need to try it ASAP.
I highly recommend paying a visit to Fort Louise for a date night or a casual lunch with friends. It’s a cozy environment with incredibly delicious and unique menu options. The back patio is the perfect place to sip on a glass of wine and enjoy an appetizer as well.
Go check it out immediately and let me know what you think. 🙂 Have a great week, everyone!
