East Bay

Our Saturday evening in Charleston was just as wonderful as the first. We spent some time in the French Quarter, strolled through Waterfront Park, and had dinner reservations at Cypress on East Bay Street to continue our anniversary celebrations.

I picked up this orange number from my friend’s boutique she recently opened in Bay City, MI called Ferne. You can check out some of the clothing on the Ferne Instagram. We used to work together when I did statewide content marketing and she was a salesperson across the state. She left the sales world and followed her dream of opening a women’s clothing boutique. I’m so stoked for her and what she’s doing. If you’re ever in the Bay City area, you should definitely check out the shop. It’s located at 107 5th St.

Our dinner was incredible. The atmosphere of Cypress was dim-lit, romantic, and chic.

We started off with a tray of charcuterie (thanks to the recommendation of the previous charcuterie chef we had met at Black Tap Coffee earlier that morning). We ordered the large tray because we knew we’d want to try a little bit of everything. Calories don’t count when you’re on vacation, right? It was worth it.

For our entrees, I ordered the roasted chicken and Steve ordered the swordfish. The chicken was served in a broth with potatoes and green beans and was loaded with flavor. Steve loved every bite of his dish as well. The server also kindly brought us each a glass of champagne to toast to our anniversary. It was by far the best meal and dining experience we had during our trip.
