This past weekend, Steven and I had our first experience at Jackalope Brewing Company in the Gulch. The weather was perfect on Saturday, too. Low 70s, cool breeze, and partly cloudy. It actually felt like autumn for the day. I threw on my good ol’ Canadian tuxedo for the occasion.
I’d been looking forward to tasting some different craft beers in Nashville since moving away from Beer City U.S.A. and I must admit, Jackalope’s beers are a stiff competitor to some of my favorite beers in Grand Rapids. We decided to go for the sampler so we could taste the Bearwallker, Hull Melon, Rompo, and Thunder Ann. My favorite was the Bearwalker, which was a Maple Brown Ale. Rich, complex, and more highly-hopped than most browns. It had a perfect aftertaste.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the brewery. It was quaint and comfortable with small leather sofas, high top tables, bar stools, and a small coffee shop attached to the back side of the building. They also host trivia nights on Thursdays and I’m already looking forward to going back with a group of friends soon.
Exploring new places in Nashville is our favorite thing to do on the weekends. When we actually get to be in town together, we try our best to do something new every day.
Jackalope- we’ll see you again very soon.
