I always love a good jumpsuit. That’s mainly because one piece of clothing constitutes as an entire outfit, and the easier I can dress myself in the morning, the better. I’ve had this army green jumpsuit from Lulu’s since last year and I’ve only worn it one other time because I don’t like to iron if I don’t have to. Since wine club was last week, I decided to pull it out of the closet, give it a quick ironing job, and throw it on. I had almost forgotten how much I love it.

I can’t believe the temperature is averaging mid-80s in Nashville. I keep wanting to wear jackets, thick socks, and boots, but I can’t bear it yet! I did it a couple times already this season, but it ended up being way too warm. I decided to wear some flats and no layers over this outfit last week because it was 80 degrees even after sundown.

I am unapologetically embracing the 90s style that’s coming back. From denim dresses to dark lips and neck chokers, I feel like I’m reliving my youth with these trends. Just be sure to call an intervention if I start wearing scrunchies and jelly sandals. I have to draw the line somewhere.

What trends are you currently embracing? What was your favorite part about the 90s? I’d love to hear!

I can’t believe it’s August already. I feel like everyone around me is talking about summer coming to a close or back-to-school stuff. Daylight is fleeting and it’s hard to say goodbye. I usually feel extra nostalgic around this time of year and get caught somewhere between wanting autumn weather and holding on tightly to summer and not ready to say goodbye to the extended daylight. Being in Nashville, I still have a hard time with how early the sun sets. Even in the summer, the latest sunset we get is at 8pm. Where I’m from, Michigan sunsets are around 10pm and set right over Lake Michigan and it’s so beautiful. I wish we had a little bit more daylight here. I’m not ready to say goodbye to longer days.

I’m going to do what I can to enjoy all of August and September to the fullest. A trip to Rock Island, more ice cream dates, and maybe a camping weekend can be squeezed in there. It’ll also be nice to go on more bike rides around Shelby Park once it’s not 100 degrees and humid out.

What are some summer bucket list items you want to cross off before autumn creeps in?

While I was home in Michigan for the 4th, I made a stop at Vander Mill Cider with Steve and my parents. We’d been wanting to go together for seemingly forever and finally found some time during our vacation. It had been a couple years since my last visit, so cider tasting was overdue. I was also excited about taking my parents for their first time.

We opted for trying basically every single cider they had. 2 flights of 4 different flavors and ALL of them were delicious. My favorite, hands down, was ‘Totally Roasted‘ though. It has the after taste of cinnamon roasted pecans. SPOT ON. We also ordered the brussels sprouts and cornbread to share. They were both amazing. If you’re ever in Spring Lake and are craving some hard ciders, be sure to make a pit stop at Vander Mill. You won’t regret it.

Now that we live so close to Shelby Park, it’s going to be hard to keep me away. Our last place was around the corner from Percy Warner Park and I loved taking advantage of the beautiful green scenery. I’m glad I won’t have to miss it too much being a block away from another great Nashville park. I can’t wait to explore more of it this coming weekend.

This post is another collaboration with Tobi. I was thrilled to be able to pick out a few pieces that fit my style and work them into my summer wardrobe. This striped skater dress with cut-outs in the back seemed perfect for a hot summer day. I love the fit and it’s so easy to throw on and go.
