Last night Steve and I went out to SoundCheck Nashville to film some behind the scenes interview videos for his upcoming album release. [His new record comes out next Friday and you can pre-order it here]. We rented out the space for a few hours so he could individually talk up each track and what it took to make this record that he’s been working on for such a long time. I’m so excited for him and all that he’s done to pour his heart and soul into this project.
While there, we snapped a few photos out in the golden sunlight. The weather is now perfect in Nashville, mid 80s with a slight breeze here and there. I’m looking forward to my first Nashville autumn.
Tomorrow night I’m going to be seeing NEEDTOBREATHE [again, I know] for the 2nd leg of Tour de Compadres with Drew Holcomb, Switchfoot, and Colony House. I’m looking forward to checking out the new Ascend Amphitheater at the Riverfront Park downtown. I’ll never tire of seeing NTB live, they’re honestly the greatest.
I hope you all have a great weekend!
This weekend was a weekend of rest. I love being able to cozy up at
home, turn on Netflix, and let my mind relax for a couple days. We’ve
been on a Parenthood binge for the past few weeks, and I cannot seem to
ever find the right time to stop watching. I swear, every episode gets
better and better. Anyone else watch?
Sunday is my favorite day of the week. They typically consist of church, brunch, errands, naps, and home cooked dinner. Today was no exception. It’s nice having one day a week where we can almost always count on having a laid-back, traditional day together. It puts me in a good place before the work-week starts back up.
Hope you all had a fantastic weekend!
The concert was amazing. It easily placed itself in one of my top 5 favorite concerts of all-time. If you ever get the chance to see James Bay live, I recommend doing so. His vocals were impeccable and his smooth guitar tones were right on the money.
[Here’s a little video snippet from the concert. Don’t mind the iPhone quality footage.]
Happy hump day, ya’ll!
We kicked off the weekend Friday evening with a round at The Listening Room Cafe, where we saw Laura Veltz, Sean McConnell, Jimmy Robbins, and Maren Morris blow us away with their original tunes. It was #1 hit, after #1 hit, after #1 hit that evening. If you don’t know who they are, look them up, trust me. It’s so fantastic to see such incredibly talented songwriters any night of the week in Nashville. It’s such an inspiring and supportive community.
It was the perfect Friday evening in downtown Nashville. It was also the perfect way to spend the first night of our full weekend together for the first time in what seems like forever.
I hope you all had a beautiful weekend.
