Whhheeeew! After a week of being in the new house, we’re finally feeling settled in. We went almost a full week without wifi, hot water, or a real mattress in our bedroom, so it was kind of like camping. The no wifi part was probably the most difficult for me since I work from home, so it meant I had to actually look like a put-together adult and work from public locations. Once we got our hot water turned on, I took the greatest bath of my life. Then our new king sized mattress arrived and I swear it’s going to make getting out of the bed in the mornings even harder than it already was. It still kind of feels like we’re visitors in this house we really love. I’m not sure if that’s a typical new homeowner feeling, but it’s a crazy feeling. I have to keep telling myself “We own this. We live here now.” It’s been a total dream-come-true. I think this city girl is going to like life out in the country.
Last night we went out to dinner at one of our local favorites, Bartaco in 12 South to take a break from moving boxes, unpacking, and building furniture. The weather has been beautiful, so it was so great to get out and enjoy it. I ordered all of my usual favorites: the tuna poké, ribeye, short rib, pork belly, and falafel tacos, sangria, and chips and guac. For dessert I tried the churros for the first time and O.M.G., you guys. Go get them now. And get some of their homemade vanilla ice cream on the side. Just do it. I ordered this embroidered wrap dress a few weeks ago from Zappos because I’ve been loving all things embroidery, and I love a good wrap dress. I feel like they’re flattering for a girl with small shoulders and wide hips. They’re also incredibly comfortable. I paired it with my favorite pair of beige slides for a classic and simple look. Easy peasy. Brigitte Bailey Dress c/o Zappos // Tahari slides c/o Zappos // Trench coat- Lulu’s [now on sale!] // Clutch- Charming Charlie // Sunglasses- Forever21
Stay tuned for more home updates! I’m excited to share this new chapter with you all.
